Volunteer

Serve with purpose by using your time and talents to support Christian women seeking rest, renewal, and direction. Volunteer opportunities vary, so there’s always a way to get involved.

Serve With Us

By volunteering on construction and hands-on work projects, you become the hands and feet of Jesus—serving Christian women who need rest, renewal, and encouragement. Volunteer needs evolve as the ministry grows, so we invite you to check back regularly to see how you can help. Whether you bring practical skills, leadership experience, or a heart to serve, your time and talents can make a lasting impact. Here are current volunteer positions:

Innkeeper

Support  and model the vision, mission and values of New Song. Oversee cabin care, occupancy, and housekeeping coordination to create an outstanding guest experience.

Trailblazer

Your work here will open 2½ miles of woodland trail where women can pray, listen, and simply be in the presence of God in Creation. Designed for quiet strolling rather than rigorous hiking, the trails will be wide enough for two to walk side by side, with gentle elevation changes. Along the way, there will be overlooks, tucked-away places for rest and reflection with seating, and directional signs as well as occasional signs with messages of hope, peace, and identity in Christ.

Current Volunteer & Support Needs

We are currently seeking support in the following areas:

  • Christians with leadership or organizational experience who share our vision and are willing to serve on the Board of Directors

  • Licensed counselors or funding to help provide counseling services for our guests

  • Volunteers to open the next mile of the prayer trail and help maintain existing trails

  • Landscapers willing to consult on and/or install gardens and outdoor features

  • A skilled crew to raise the existing Creekside Cabin and add structural supports and a porch

Together, we can help Christian women discover the rest, renewal, and purpose they need.

For Volunteers: What We Provide & What to Bring

Lodging

From October through May, half price cabin lodging is provided on the property. During summer months, teams will need to either reserve here ( discounted), arrange for lodging off premises, or bring their own camping gear.

Cooking

All seasons, kitchens and cooking equipment are available. Please include cooks in your group, if possible, and provide your own food.

Tools

New Song provides a supply of professional trail tools. Bringing your own tools such as axes, machetes, McLeod hoes, loppers, digging bars, and chainsaws—is welcome and helpful.

Project Leaders

Youth groups should bring team leaders. Our Project Coordinator will provide guidance, safety briefing, access to tools, and collaborative support to ensure all goes smoothly.

Fun and Relaxation

Catch starry nights by the campfire, gather for good singing, and making great memories. Burn off extra energy with evening volleyball. Staying a few days? Float the Illinois River or adventure through Natural Falls State Park.
