Your Labor of Love Opens Sacred Trails

Your work here will open 2½ miles of woodland trail where women can pray, listen, and simply be in the presence of God in Creation.  Designed for quiet strolling rather than rigorous hiking, the trails will be wide enough for two to walk side by side, with gentle elevation changes. Along the way, there will be overlooks, tucked-away places for rest and reflection with seating, and directional signs as well as occasional signs with  messages of hope, peace, and identity in Christ.

Timeline

With your help—through volunteering or generous giving—it is our prayer and hope that the trails will be completed and ready to welcome women by summer 2026.

We are especially inviting volunteers to serve between March 10 and April 8.  If those dates are full for you, call or message us and together we can find an alternative time that works for you.

For Volunteers: What We Provide & What to Bring

Lodging: From October through May, half price cabin lodging is provided on the property. During summer months, teams will need to either reserve here ( discounted), arrange for lodging off premises, or bring their own camping gear.

Cooking: All seasons, kitchens and cooking equipment are available. Please include cooks in your group, if possible, and provide your own food.

Tools: New Song provides a supply of professional trail tools. Bringing your own tools such as axes, machetes, McLeod hoes, loppers, digging bars, and chainsaws—is welcome and helpful.

Project leaders:  Youth groups should bring team leaders.  Our Project Coordinator will provide guidance, safety briefing, access to tools, and collaborative support to ensure all goes smoothly.

Fun and Relaxation: Catch starry nights by the campfire, gather for good singing, and making great memories. Burn off extra energy with evening volleyball. Staying a few days?  Float the Illinois River or adventure through Natural Falls State Park.

Please reach out to discuss your vital part in inviting our sisters to come away and be restored.
