A Tiny House So Cozy You Won't Want to Leave

At first glance, you wouldn't guess that the Owl's Nest offers not just everything you need, but also some luxuries you wouldn't have thought to ask for. Not just a working kitchenette, comfy bathroom, and whimsical sleeping loft, but a big deck with a hot tub, fire pit, and comfy chairs. Whether you came to rest, pray, think, or all three, you'll leave with warm memories of Owl's Nest.

About the Place

The Owl's Nest is your private perch on a wooded hillside, out of sight of other residences. It's ready to accommodate you, whether you prefer taking your alone time indoors or outdoors.

Relax on the deck or in the hot tub as long as you want, with no interruptions responsibilities, or prying neighbors. Nestle into the pillows in the seating area inside to read or take a long nap. Fix a simple meal in the kitchenette.

When you decide you've enjoyed the quiet of evening long enough and it's bedtime, the queen bed in the loft offers what could be the coziest sleep you've ever had.

Your stay at Owl's Nest gives you access to New Song's network of scenic trails. Meander across ridges and through hollows where the only sounds are wind and birdsong, or pause on a park bench to pray and reflect.

Things to Know About Owl's Nest

🌲 There is one bathroom with a spacious shower. The kitchen is furnished with an electric double burner, electric kettle, dishes, pots, and cooking utensils, as well as coffee, tea, and popcorn.

🌲 The steps to the loft are steep (see the photos). Owl's Nest may not be a good choice for anyone with bad knees or balance problems.

🌲 The Owls Nest is small, and the open loft is not suitable for small children. If you have children under four years old, we suggest Hillside Cottage or Bear House.

🌲 Your stay includes a generous firewood supply, and you can purchase more should you run low. (To avoid spreading disease, please do not bring firewood from elsewhere.) Ask for details.

🌲 If you bring pets, we ask that they stay off the upholstered furniture and out of the loft.

Things to Know About the New Song Property

🌲 While thousands of guests in all types of vehicles have successfully come and gone, be aware that the driveway is rough and somewhat steep. Drive carefully. We are happy to answer any questions you have about access.

🌲 Please contact New Song Sanctuary before bringing in guests that are not registered on the booking. We are generally flexible about visitors, but we need to know who is here.

🌲 To ensure you have a restful stay, New Song observes quiet hours from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am.

🌲 The water supply is unfiltered live spring water. If you are not comfortable with that, please bring your own drinking water.

🌲 New Song Sanctuary shares the woods with wildlife, including ticks, bugs, and spiders. Bring effective tick and insect repellent in season if you plan to venture into the woods.

🌲 The spring-fed creek runs year-round. It is full and gurgling most of the year but lower in late summer.

🌲 If you wish, you may dig wild onions in the woods (early spring) or harvest watercress from the creek (spring and fall). To avoid over-harvesting, respectfully leave some behind in each clump you find.

Stories of Renewal and Impact

"I was delighted when a friend offered me a two-night stay at New Song Sanctuary. I found a joyous solitude with God—a restorative silence, filled with birdsong and the murmur of the creek. A small cabin, an inviting hot tub, and beautiful outdoor spaces where I could speak my questions aloud to God. As I listened for His voice and relaxed in His presence, I was certain once more that "the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord" (Psalm 33:4)."

Carol Nisly, Parsons KS

"I have personally experienced Gwen’s New Song Sanctuary. I spent almost a whole week there, and it was such a balm to my weary soul! The peace and quiet of the 'hundred-acre wood,' with a stream bubbling past my cabin, the well-stocked supply of breakfast and other foods, the marvelous hot tub, and all the extra special little touches made my stay absolutely perfect! I went home refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to face my stressful life again."

Julia Brubaker, Raymond, Alberta

"In a time when there was no familiarity or comfort from outside circumstances, your place provided refuge. My children and I were hidden away under His wings, literally—a hummingbird came and sang over me! I felt God show up in a way that would have been hard to experience in any other place. I’m convinced His creation is His greatest ministry to our hurting. Getting away from the noise and busyness of the city allowed me to clearly hear His answer to my question—'What’s next for me?'"
